This narrative fits within the framework of the twinning project “Under the same sky”, that children from grades 2 A and B are working with the children of CFS (Child Friendly Space) of Galkayo, Somalia.
The choice of themes, comparison between activities pertaining to the Italian and Somali food, is related to the contents of twinning activities. The project concerns mainly the comparison between aspects of children’s daily life and the part concerning the food is nothing more than a chapter of the book they are writing
In the book various themes are being considered, from the children’s daily life to their favorite food, from the school day to outdoor activities etc. At the beginning of the current school year, pupils of second classes have created a narrative, in Italian language, based on the construction of musical instruments. The narrative has been seen in Somalia, where children through images and Somali-language simultaneous translation, were able to follow step by step instructions to make their own instruments.
It is therefore a work of mutual knowledge and comparison, with the help of teachers who have followed all the early stages of labour; furthemore two of them, travelling to Italy and Somalia, act as a go-between for the materials and documentation exchanges.
